Welcome to the Liberty Groves Project Site

Over the past several decades, California and in particular Fresno and Madera Counties have experienced significant growth. Between 1990 and 2000, the population in Madera County increased 40 percent, compared to 14 percent for the State. The growth pressure from Fresno and surrounding areas has required that Madera County reassess their future.

My partners and I have farmed in the Madera Ranchos area for over 20 years and the local residents and businesses have been our long-time neighbors. As our area faces the pressures and challenges of growth, it is important that we carefully plan our future course. We work to be good stewards of the land and understand the critical role of agriculture in Madera County.

“...as farmers and neighbors, we have a deep commitment to both the land and the local community.”

—Igal Treibatch

As farmers and neighbors, we have a deep commitment to both the land and the local community. We have a vested interest in this community and therefore share a common desire to preserve its well-being. Although we are still planting trees and anticipate continuing to farm for the next 20 years or more, we have also realized that to survive we have to reassess our ultimate future and goals for our land and chart our course of action accordingly.

On behalf of Greenleaf Orchards, Pegasus Orchards, and Silverdust, we are proud to introduce our project “Liberty Groves”.
